Spain vs Chile

26/6/10 Ellis Park, Johannesburg

Spain 2-1 Chile

Goal Scorers: David Villa and Iniesta

David Villa scored the most gorgeously fresh goal. Torres jumped over the goalie, and this dude just came flying, kicked it and it swooped in, shouting victory. He is on roaring fire form, 'the King.' He is a superstar, and there is nobody that matches up to his personality and confidence. So, yes, they went through on top of their group and had to play Portugal in the Last 16. Luckily for them, the Swiss and Honduras kept it at a smooth draw, and so begins Spain's conquest.

Spain vs. Honduras

21/6/10 Ellis Park, Johannesburg

Spain 2-0 Honduras

Goal Scorers: David Villa [twice]

Oh, what a beauty, and yes, I'm talking about David Villa's glorious goal. His run was powerful but light, he struck for goal full of confidence and the ball obeyed, smashing itself into victory. So it was, Barcelona's latest kid turns out to be good buy. There are going to be a lot of eager fans awaiting his entrance. It was his night, although he failed to get that penalty and thus depriving himself of a hat-rick. I had already typed hat-rick and was just about to tweet it, when he missed. This is Espana's tricky conundrum, they don't score enough goals.

All these rough and tumble teams, like Honduras, should just go home. There has been enough wild tackles and dirty dives, and it doesn't matter what you do, as long as you continue to behave in a reasonable manner.

Then there is El NiƱo, who looks rather unwell. He was disorientated, couldn't place the ball, and was exhausted. The guy did not seem to have enough strength and dragged himself all over until the coach finally called him off. I do hope he gets better soon, if Allah Wills.

Spain Vs. Switzerland

16/6/10 Moses Mabida Stadium, Durban

Switzerland 1-0 Spain

Goal Scorer: Gelson Fernandes

The world had spoken: 'Spain is the most likely to win the World Cup' and yes, the Swiss beat the Spanish in their opening match. I don't know if there was a problem because the Spanish were complacent and Torres seemed unhappy. Their defense lacked essential elements, Villa was quiet and although all their were many shots at goal, not a single one of them went through. It was dangerously disastrous and disappointing.

Gelson Fernandes went after running through the Spanish defense and shooting in a loose ball after a scramble in front of the net that left goalkeeper Iker Casillas chasing from behind. "To be fair, I'm not used to scoring goals, so I was a bit surprised," Fernandes said.

Chile vs Honduras

16/6/10 Mbombela Stadium, Nelspruit

Chile 1-0 Honduras

Goal Scorer: Beausejour

Chile triumphed over Honduras, many calling it one of the fastest games so far seen in the World Cup. After a nearly half a century the team recorded their first win, and well done to them. Fifa heralded Beausejour's goal as the goal of the day.
